The Unforgettable Moment of the Day.
Words cannot describe the feeling that came over me shortly after we were married. We had gone out to the temple grounds for some pictures. As we walked out the doors of the temple, we both instantly looked all around us, wondering where the kids were and waiting, like a child on Christmas morning, to share with them our excitement. The moment seemed like forever. Then walking up the sidewalk were 5 of the most amazing kids walking toward the crowd of friends and family. The moment was frozen in time and it seemed as if everything was in slow motion. You could have heard a pin drop. I'm pretty sure that everyone could sense the importance of this moment, when there were tears in our eyes, as we watch these little blessings from heaven, join in the celebration of our new family. We were so excited to see them and let me add that they were 3 of the most handsome little guys, and 2 of the most beautiful little girls I have ever seen. It had to have been one of the top highlights of the day.
I Still Remember........
The time has gone by so quickly. It seems like just yesterday that I was spending sleepless nights preparing for the "Big Day". The "Big Day" that I will never forget....I still remember how I felt that day, the friends and family that were there to celebrate with us, the 5 beautiful children that joined together with us as a new family, the cold and sore throat that I woke up with that morning, the 9 degree temperature that morning at the Logan Temple and the much anticipated Honeymoon on a Mexican Riviera Cruise in 80 degree weather.

The Race Is On!!
It's that time of year again. Time to set all of our troubles aside. We are just getting ready to book our spring vacation to Cancun. We are hoping to go the third week of April. 7 nights, 8 days without kids, just the white sand beaches, and turquoise blue water.
Last year it was just the 2 of us and at the last minute we decided to see if we could round up some friends to join us, but didn't have much luck. It's all in the timing. Better luck next year! So all of those needing a little vacation, 2010 is the year for you!
I always love the excitement of knowing there is a little R & R in store, especially when it takes place in Cancun....but there is always a little extra work that has to take place. The extra work I'm talkin' about is not only all of the arrangements for the kids and the agenda when we get there....but the race that Travis and I have during the months that lead up to takin' off. Last year, we both decided, that in order for us to get into shape before we hit the beach, that we should race each other running on the treadmill a few months leading up to the vacation. Last year it worked out really well for me. Travis got sick for a whole week and got way behind on his miles. So, by the time we left, I was a little ways ahead.
This year......... he's totally eating my lunch. I can't seem to catch up to him, and just when I do, he adds another 5 miles and it always ends up being on the days I am totally exhausted. The good thing is that it makes me get on and get going.
It really helps that we are both so competitive, and we both cannot handle losing. Otherwise, we would probably be all caught up on reality shows and our basement's progress would be further along.
I think Travis must have super powers. He helps get kids to school in the morning, and home in the afternoon, he get's on the treadmill, puts up walls and moves pipes around, helps the boys with homework, heads to work for the next 12 or so hours and retires to bed at 3am, just after he does his Wii fitness. How am I ever suppose to keep up with that?
